Boss in Sellars future talks

Stuart Watkiss will meet with chairman Keith Haslam today to try
to get
financial backing to keep Scott Sellars until the end of the
season.
Former Premiership star Sellars did well and scored in
yesterday's 2-2
friendly reserve game at Notts County and Watkiss said: "I
would like to
take Scott to the end of the season but it's all down to finance
and I will
speak to the chairman today.
"Obviously with the transfer deadline coming up next week
Scott needs to
know where he stands as soon as possible as well so he has the
chance to
get fixed up elsewhere.
"He has trained hard but has not played many games recently.
But he still
showed his Premiership quality yesterday and could prove very
useful to us
in the run-in."
Although predominantly left-footed, Sellars played down the right
and did a
good job in a position Watkiss has been having problems filling
since Liam
Lawrence was ruled out for the season.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Stags levelled through Andy White, who
had an
excellent second half, just after the break and then quickly went
ahead
through Sellars before conceding an equaliser 15 minutes from
time.
"Overall it was a good performance from the lads," said
Watkiss.

Tony Hackworth grabbed two goals in a behind closed doors game at
Meadow
Lane as the Magpies reserves battled out a 2-2 draw with
neighbouring
Mansfield Town.
The former Leeds United striker had opened the scoring for the
home side on
27 minutes, after showing great composure to power Niall
McNamara's headed
pass into the roof of the net from ten yards.
The Stags struck back immediately after the break, and took the
lead on 52
minutes, but Hackworth levelled the scores with half an hour
remaining when
he broke clear of the Mansfield defence, firing his shot across
the face of
the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.
