Hull City reserves 6-1 Stags reserves

Watkiss furious with reserves' showing

Despite the strength of opponents Hull, Stuart Watkiss was furious with his young side’s 6-1 reserve capitulation in the Avon Insurance League.
“They had a team of tried and tested professionals out and we only had four pros involved so, if the roles were reversed I suppose I would have expected the same scoreline,” he said.
“Even so, we were poor and I have told them it’s not good enough. The season is not over yet and I don’t want anyone at this club cruising along.”
But there was a silver lining for Stags in that Michael Sisson was man-of-the-match for the visitors and is looking ready to challenge for a first team place at last.
And fellow midfielder Craig Disley came through his 45 minutes and should be in the starting line-up on Saturday.

Playing in purple For Stags:
Bingham, Asher, Clarke, Sisson, Holyoak, Buxton, Lazarus, Disley, Mitchell, Elliott and Laws. Subs were Hurst, Shaw, Carter, Robinson and White (Jason).

Hull played a pretty strong side, and were easily the better team throughout, scoring first (though Sisson's equaliser was excellent), made it 2-1 before half-time. Disley came off at half-time - he and Sisson were the only Mansfield players who looked good.

Hull scorers were Clayton Donaldson, Nicky Mohan, Rob Matthews, Adrian Caceres 2 (Southampton trialist) and Nathan Peat.
